My husband is going to make me one! We sat down and planned out the design this evening. I've wanted one for some time.
Anyone else have one? Do you find it helpful?

My friend just got one for her birthday. I had never heard of one before that. They put theirs above the stove but I just couldn't do that. Things splatter, like sauce. However, it was so sweet her husband and children made it for her.

I have such a small kitchen that it really doesn't matter where I put it. I will only have to take about a step to get to it from across the room, lol. But I know where I'm going to put it. It's going to go on the wall that leads to the living room, close to the refrigerator.

What makes it a kitchen rosary...is it made of macaroni and dried beans?

Is this what you mean? It would really need to be within arm's reach, correct?

Is this what you mean? It would really need to be within arm's reach, correct? Yes, that's it. Within arms reach would be the most practical I would think. Pretty much everything is within arms reach or a step away in my kitchen so I'm good to go there!

What makes it a kitchen rosary...is it made of macaroni and dried beans? Ha. You could make the beads the macaroni and dry beans if that tickles your fancy I suppose. We say a family Rosary in the evenings, just 5 decades. I'm in the kitchen so much during the day, I really think I could get at least another 5 in just while I'm cooking. Probably all 10.

I'm not a big fan of the style of the kitchen Rosaries I've found online. Most of them have a picture behind them and for some reason I find it distasteful. This is of course just my personal preference. There's really nothing wrong with a picture. I threw around the idea of having him wood burn a simple image on it but I don't even think I want that. I think I'd rather it be in a solid oak, shallow box that would create a ledge to sit a little statue of Our Lady on, or if in a future house I have it by the oven it would help shield it from splatters.

I have a 5 x 5 plastic box with 10 clothes pins that go in and out as needed. I laminated 3x5 color-coded cards with the name of each mystery. 5 green cards for Joyful, 5 red cards for Sorrowful, 5 yellow cards for Glorious.
I don't use it as much now because I recorded my own Rosary with Audacity and uploaded it to my iPod. I can say it along with "myself" and never get distracted!
